Morning REHEARSAL II in the Lutheran Church of the Cross.
1:30 pm OPTIONAL (added cost) Excursion to Chinatown for a Dim sum lunch & Chinatown walking tour (1.5 hours).

Next, your tour of Chinatown. Follow in the footsteps of gold miners, merchants, labourers and revolutionaries as you wend your way along Chinatown’s main streets and then weave into hidden alleys. Find out why Victoria has Canada’s oldest Chinatown, once the country’s largest. Discover how to play fan tan (once a popular gambling game) infamous Fan Tan Alley. Symbolism, architecture, history and culture are highlighted and the truth is revealed about opium dens, secret societies, and hidden tunnels. Learn about the discriminatory laws that once oppressed the Chinese and about the long but successful struggle to repeal them.

3:00 pm Depart the hotel and central Victoria to Butchart Gardens.
4 pm Arrive to Butchart Gardens. You'll receive a map of the gardens and have time to explore the grounds prior to dinner.
6 pm Buffet Dinner in the Blue Poppy restaurant.
7:30 pm Outdoor seating opens for the Gardens Summer music series concert in the nearby amphitheater.
8:00 pm Performance of a local or regional act as part of the Gardens Summer Music Series.
Coach transfer to central Victoria and your hotel.
Butchart Gardens is a 118-year-old internationally renowned 55 – acre display garden located in Brentwood Bay near Victoria, British Columbia. Created in 1904 by Jennie Butchart, and still privately owned and operated by the family, The Gardens was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2004 for its 100th birthday.
